Week 4 Part B Defining Your Target Market

 Carly’s Cause is an organization that provides financial assistance to children with disabilities and neurological disorders. They also have a suppprt group for parents of disabled children. They currently utilize their website and Facebook page. As the new social media manager, I’ve started an Instagram handle, although I have not built it up yet. The Facebook page has 801 likes and 788 followers. The organization puts on charitable events sometimes and this is a place to make announcements. 

The target market of Carly’s Cause is mainly women between the ages of 18-65. Most of these women have a connection to a child who is disabled. Most of these women are educated, middle to upper middle class. Most of these women are mothers and grandmothers. 

I’ve found my target market primarily in Facebook groups. This is where you can specifically find parents who are connected to a loved one with a disability. This is where people ask and answer questions. They bring up their concerns and this is a great place for information on how we can make the organization better able to support our target market. 

Our target market is compassionate, caring and family oriented. They are philanthropic and have knowledge and wisdom to contribute to the world of people with disabilities. Our target market reads about the latest scientific research and stays on top of current events.
